This 9x12 Swedish style kilim is from the Scandinavian rug collection by Rug
Kilim. Handwoven in silk, this flatweave represents a reimagining of Swedish Deco Rollakans and Rya rugs in a high-end style.
On the Design:
This rug enjoys geometric patterns and chevrons in tones of gray and beige-brown with a taupe undertone. Keen eyes will admire the blend of yarns that achieve an almost abrashed, vintage look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique of ours both lends a more modern sense of movement to more traditional repetition, and honors a similar technique used by Scandinavian weavers in an inventive new way.
This modern flat weave further enjoys our reputed, heavier body with buckle resistance and greater durability against foot traffic. This new form, combined with its many stylistic choices, is both a more comfortable contemporary choice for luxury homes today and a meaningful contribution to the mid-century modern aesthetic that honors its foundations.
