Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian Collection.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs may admire this flat weave that reinvents vintage Scandinavian Kilim in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. This rug is the first major representation of this mid-century modern style in handwoven wool and silk—and a luxurious new look therein. This particular yarn takes dye in a whole new way, and offers a stunning sheen to the handsome play of colors. That luster is a natural complement to this play of smart geometric patterns in beige-brown, blue
cream hues.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic.
