Hand-knotted in wool, this 6x9 Swedish rug from our “High” texture named for its high-and-low approach to Swedish patterns features geometric patterns inspired by Swedish Deco sensibilities of the mid-20th century.
On the Design:
Keen eyes will further admire the marriage of the high-low texture to the geometry and its fabulous complement to the movement and graphic nature of such a modern piece. The choice of colors, too, explores their retro feel in a more refreshing style, thereby making it a particularly warm piece made to brighten any space. This particular rug enjoys a unique play of rich and neutral tones of beige-brown and gray, with mustard tones and other very purposeful colors meant to underscore the geometric patterns with a vintage look that recaptures the Swedish deco and mid-century modern beauty. These techniques, along with our particular blend of yarns and the fabulous, classic look of striae they lend the patterns, both innovate and honor mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
