Kilim's Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish Minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
Umber tones of beige-brown, gold, and rust underscore square-shaped geometric patterns organized in diagonal rows, with punctuations of creamy white in between for a smart, subtle positive-negative element. Keen eyes will further admire subtle variations in the colorway, where a meticulous blend of yarns both recaptures the vintage sense of chic in the colorway and pattern and lends a subtle complement to the sense of movement such a comfortable, minimal series of patterns enjoys. Admirers of the craft may note this is also a nod to traditional Scandinavian weaving techniques in a contemporary fashion—an inventive new technique that honors the foundations of this historic mid-century modern movement.
