Kilim’s Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
This contemporary rug reinvents vintage Scandinavian rug in ways that both honor the Swedish minimalist aesthetic and modernize its construction. Our use of undyed natural yarns, for example, lends a subtle striae with more of a sense of movement and depth—a subtle nod to Rollakan techniques in a modern fashion. The design enjoys geometric patterns in tones of sky blue, teal, gray and white, with gentle variations in the color from the aforementioned, intricate weaving style. Admirers of the craft may appreciate this proprietary technique of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style. The result is a rich, immersive and sophisticated contribution to an iconic style for luxury interiors today.
