Made with hand-knotted wool and silk, this 8x10 rug is an exciting new addition to Rug
Kilim's Scandinavian rug collection—a contemporary reimagining of Swedish Minimalism and vintage rugs and textiles of Rollakan and Rya traditions.
On the Design:
A subtle cream tone underscores a rippling series of geometric patterns in blue, gold, and a gray tone with hints of mauve in the colorway—a series of diamonds, triangles, and chevron-like patterns that speak to the Swedish aesthetic. Admirers of the craft will further note the marriage of the high-low texture to the geometry and its fabulous complement to the sense of dimensionality, depth and presence here. Keen eyes will further admire the blend of yarns within each color, and the subtle sense of movement it lends the more minimalist, comfortable geometry—an intricate proprietary weave of ours that both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
