This 3x9 rug is a new addition to the flatweaves in Rug
Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian rug collection. Made with handwoven wool and all-natural yarns, its design is inspired by mid-century Swedish minimalist and Art Deco rug and textile designs of the Rollakhan and Rya weaving traditions.
On the Design:
Rich red tones underscores sharp geometric patterns in blue, pink, and white hues, where keen eyes will further admire subtle variations in the colorway. These are an interwoven series of undyed, natural yarns that speak to both the brightness of the colors and the subtle sense of movement the geometry enjoys. Admirers of the craft may note this is also a nod to traditional Scandinavian weaving techniques in a contemporary fashion—an inventive new technique that honors the foundations of this historic mid-century modern movement.
