About the Item
Scandinavian modern rölakan flatweave rug by a Swedish textile artist in the 1950s. This handmade wool rug on a linen warp showcases a central yellow, blue and dark gray square, bordered by a yellow frame adorned with yellow squares featuring dark centers. The outer field displays french blue triangles with dark centers, surrounded by a pattern of white, dark gray, orange, pink, red, green, and white squares in a zigzag design encircling the central motif.
The entire rug features a melanged effect, with no single color appearing “pure.” This gives it a rich, layered look, blending deep yet muted pastel tones for a vibrant yet soft overall impression.
There is a monogram “AL” in the lower left corner that represents the designer's or the weaver's signature. Hand-woven from the highest quality materials, this Swedish rug encompasses the love for tradition and the excellent craftsmanship of Scandinavian design.
