This impressive handwoven rölakan flatweave rug was produced by Göteborgs Hemslöjd, a Swedish handicraft association renowned for its high-quality weaving during the mid-20th century. Executed in wool on linen warp, the rug measures an exceptional 234 × 410 cm, making it ideal for a large interior space.
The design features a striking geometric composition of repeated blocks and arrow motifs in earthy tones of brown, beige, green, and muted blue. Typical of Swedish Modern textiles, the balance of structure and rhythm reflects both traditional folk inspiration and modernist abstraction.
