This is a beautiful vintage Russian embroidered velvet textile, measuring approximately 3’2” x 3’2” (98 cm x 98 cm). Crafted with deep rich burgundy velvet, it features ornate gold and cream embroidery in an elegant Baroque-style layout. The design includes intricate floral and acanthus motifs arranged around a central medallion, giving the piece a luxurious and ceremonial appearance.
Each corner is finished with a decorative tassel, a classic detail seen in Eastern European celebration textiles. The backing is made of a soft gold-toned fabric, indicating it was created as a table cover, altar cloth, or decorative wall hanging, commonly used during festive occasions or Orthodox celebrations.
