Woven like a forgotten verse from the highlands of Anatolia, this hand-knotted wool antique Turkish Oushak rug carries the mystique of centuries within its intimate frame. Divided into two square compartments, each panel sings with sacred geometry and ancestral motifs—mystic diagrams passed hand to hand across generations of weavers. Faded hues of terra cotta, sage, ochre, and stone evoke the patina of time, as if this Oushak had absorbed sun, soil, and spirit from the very earth it once adorned.
Each compartment is a coded manuscript of symbols born from Anatolian ritual and folklore. Ram’s horn motifs spiral with masculine strength and virility, while the 'hands-on-hips' elibelinde patterns affirm the feminine force of fertility and continuity. Triangular glyphs nod to mountains and amulets, guardians of life and prosperity.
