Luxe utilitarian appeal meets industrial chic in this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish overdyed rug. The faded botanical design and earthy hues in this piece work together resulting in a look of relaxed refinement with quiet sophistication. An inconspicuous botanical medallion floating in the center of the coveted open field seems to evanesce before one's eyes into the rich waves of abrash. Adding an intriguing finish, a barely-there botanical border and meander guard bands seamlessly blend into the composition without taking away from the overall design. Reflecting embodiments of Anatolian culture and historical richness, this vintage overdyed rug strikes the right balance of earth-tone elegance and laid-back luxury.
Rendered in variegated shades of tan, gray, taupe, slate gray, sand, oyster gray, mushroom, greige, bluish-grayish, brown and dove gray with other neutral colors.
This is a textured area rug with low to no pile. The artist hand-carves the design into the rug.
