About the Item

Tulu with large central cobalt blue polygon on a natural wool bottom Tulu is Turkish rugs with a high and irregular pile, with straightforward decorations and bright colours, mainly used as a bed. The Tulu have retained their original characteristics because being produced for personal use. They have not suffered the influences of the western markets. The quality of the wool is that of the flocks of the plateaus, soft and shiny. The colours are natural and extracted from materials found on-site, such as plants, flowers and small insects. Very often, wool is used, without dyeing, selected in its natural colours. The decorations are always geometric, and their origin is lost in time.
