This vintage Turkish runner rug, known as a Filikli Tulu, embodies the flokati-style long-pile weaving tradition of Central Anatolia. Handwoven from lustrous Angora (Mohair) goat’s wool, its distinctive cream tone and deeply tufted surface provide exceptional softness, warmth, and texture. The pile is hand-knotted over a durable flatwoven kilim foundation, giving it both strength and a striking sculptural quality.
Historically created by nomadic families for personal use in their homes, Filikli Tulu rugs were treasured for their insulating qualities as well as their tactile appeal. Today, they are highly sought after in the design world for their minimalist aesthetic and versatility. This runner can serve as a luxurious floor covering, an expressive wall hanging, or a unique decorative throw—functional art that bridges tradition and modernity.
