About the Item
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long piled") rug from Konya in Central Turkey. The rug is made of soft lamb’s wool. Measures: 5 x 6 Ft.
These contemporary looking small rugs with simple, minimalist design and lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until early 1970s.
Today they are considered collectible as well as being highly decorative as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
