About the Item
This antique Anatolian flat-woven rug originates from the villages located around Karapinar, situated in the central Anatolian plain not far from Çatal Hüyük, one of the cradles of civilisation dating to the early Neolithic period. These kilims were woven using exclusively natural undyed wool mixed with goat hair wherever dark brown was necessary. These elegant flat-weaves have a sturdy texture comparable to that of knotted pile rugs, and represent an ideal complement to many of todays' modernist interiors.
