Hand knotted with wool originating from Turkey between 1880-1890, this antique rug hails from the Ghiordes region of former Anatolia, renowned among Classic and traditional rug families for a history of craftsmanship. Employing the celebrated mihrab pattern in its central field, the play of the rich beige-brown with the distinct black background has a quiet regality, complemented both by the intricacy and the meticulous burgundy red floral coloration for a quiet but regal sense of movement and depth few pieces of this size boast; enjoying pristine condition for its age.
