Kilim.
On the Design:
Samarkand rugs often reflect a fascinating fusion of Persian, Chinese, and Central Asian design elements and this piece embodies just that sensibility. This vision depicts classic patterns—widely regarded symbols of fortune
prosperity along with very ornate medallions and Chinese right angles. Navy blue is the most prominent color, being the field color and a beautifully saturated one at that, with a play of beige-brown, light gold and mauve tones in the intricate medallions and borders alike that create a heightened, regal look. Thriving in healthy condition, this is a notable piece worthy of ornate drawing rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and museums.
