This antique Oushak kilim from the 1930s captures the poetic side of Anatolian weaving — where geometry, color, and folklore merge in quiet harmony. A rare survivor of a discontinued weaving tradition, it showcases a radiant madder-red field centered by a large angular medallion framed with lilac, ivory, and soft green accents. The border, detailed in lavender and rose, adds rhythm and symmetry, giving the piece both serenity and strength.
Subtle natural discoloration around the medallion speaks to its age and authenticity — not a flaw, but a gentle patina earned through time. Handwoven from 100% naturally dyed wool on a wool foundation, this flatweave embodies both artistry and resilience.
Woven in Western Anatolia, the birthplace of the Oushak tradition, this kilim is a testament to Turkey’s enduring craft heritage — elegant, balanced, and effortlessly timeless.
