Hand knotted in wool from Turkey circa 1920-1930, an antique 9x13 Oushak rug - latest to enter our Antique and Vintage collection.
On the Design:
The piece carries an air of art deco style in its inspirations - seldom seen in the Oushak rugs of any era. The rug is further a rare masterpiece for this provenance given its whimsical and feminine sensibilities. The rich brown open field hosts blue borders, an unusual medallion and patterns in pinks and other subversive colors—extremely collectible as it is a gorgeous one-of-a-kind piece in its period.
