Made with hand-knotted wool and originating from Turkey circa 1880-1890, this 11x14 antique Oushak rug is one of our most exciting and rare new classic curations.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will appreciate Oushaks for their delicious and unexpected design choices among other Oriental rugs of their caliber. In this piece, a bright pink field underscores large palmettes and leaves in an all over floral pattern enjoying bright blue and gold hues. The same variety of tones can be found in the three main borders surrounding the piece, which enjoy similar palmettes in floral meanders and vine scrolls.
Keen eyes will further admire the rich, lush texture of the wool, which has aged beautifully particularly beautifully considering the rug’s age.
