This 13x16 antique Oushak rug represents one of the most unexpected, exceptional curations of this celebrated provenance in the Rug
Kilim collection—a whimsical, yet regal early 20th century design teeming with the unexpected sense of color and movement among the many beauties that distinguish Oushaks in the history of Turkish rugs. Made with hand-knotted wool and originating from West Anatolia circa 1910–1920.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will know Oushak rugs often reflect a fascinating fusion of Persian, Chinese, and Central Asian design elements, and are one of the most individualistic rug types for each piece’s unique employ of transitional colors and atypical drawings.
