Antique Anatolian Kayseri silk rug of single medallion design
Circa 1900
The rug is of very fine weave on a silk foundation, this is a fine rug with very glossy silk, the handle is very floppy like a soft cloth The rug has a single oval medallion in medium indigo blue on a very soft yellow / gold ground, the field and medallion are covered with a floral vine design The border is in the same blue colour as the medallion and has a floral design with cartouches
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile
Ideal to be used as a wall hanging or for light domestic floor use
Hand washed and ready for use or display
