About the Item
Kirshehir is a town in central Anatolia located between Kayseri and Ankara. The rugs woven there utilize excellent quality wool and often feature vibrant colors such as a distinctive purplish red naturally sourced from cochineal. The designs can vary between bold and vibrant to European-influenced floral patterns. This rug has three and one-half serrated medallions on a magenta field. The design is more pronounced due to a liberal usage of celadon. The field pattern is framed by a narrow ivory outer border. 5' 2" x 3' 2"
