About the Item
This is a rare antique ottoman textile woven in Turkey during the 19th century that measures 118 x 55CM in size. Its design revolves around its floral center medallion set on a beige background color and surrounded by star motifs spread throughout the field. The border is designed with repeating shrub motifs which are interconnected with blossoming flowers and sickle leaves. a unique feature of this textile is that its border is not separated from the field but is a continuation of the field to create one complete design. This textile has been preserved in excellent condition and is backed for display and preservation purposes.
