Hand-knotted Turkish Sultanabad rug, woven circa 1940.
This antique Sultanabad rug displays an allover pattern of geometric motifs set against a terracotta field, framed by an ivory border with light blue and soft gold accents. The composition is spacious yet intricate, embodying the graceful proportions and rich color harmony for which Sultanabad rugs are admired.
Handwoven from wool on a cotton foundation, the rug has a supple texture and balanced weave that enhance its depth and natural sheen.
Size: 13'0" × 9'8" (397 cm × 295 cm), an impressive format ideal for living rooms, dining areas, or large open interiors.
