About the Item
In this listing you will find a rare and stunning flat woven rug from far West Turkish region of Van Lake. The central field is dominated by repeated octagonal motifs, known as guls or 'elephant's foot' patterns, which are characteristic tribal emblems of the region. The rug is estimated to be woven in the last quarter of the 19th Century, which makes this rug very special.
Rug is in very good condition despite its age.
