Middle of The 19th Century Bergama Heybe
This antique Bergama saddlebag carpet dates from the mid-19th century and is a rare piece reflecting the rich weaving tradition of Anatolia. The carpet consists of two square-shaped main sections and colored strips connecting these sections. Each of the square sections is decorated with traditional Pergamon motifs and attracts attention with vibrant combinations of red, blue, white and green colors. The geometric patterns in the middle parts and the borders around it increase the aesthetic value of the carpet. Colored stripes complete the functional structure of the carpet and provide ease of transportation. This saddlebag carpet is an important example of handcraftsmanship and cultural heritage, which is both decorative and collectible.
