About the Item
This newly crafted Ushak rug revives the visual language of Seljuk Anatolia with a bold, modern sensibility. The rug’s composition draws on 13th-century Seljuk court designs, where geometric abstraction meets botanical inspiration.
Hand-knotted in Western Anatolia using hand-spun wool and centuries-old techniques, this piece exemplifies Ararat Rugs’ dedication to authenticity, craftsmanship, and sustainable materials. Its rich tones and timeless symbolism make it an heirloom-quality piece fit for both contemporary and classic settings.
This Ushak rug is crafted using the finest quality wool from lambs, hand-spun and dyed with traditional vegetable dyeing techniques. It is woven by master artisans with exceptional skill.
During the Ottoman Empire, Ushak rugs were offerings to the sultans. Their noble and elegant designs feature graceful curves and refined motifs. However, unlike some finely woven workshop carpets that can feel cold or impersonal, Ushak rugs have a warm and gentle charm. This warmth and texture are among the most beloved qualities of Turkish rugs.
