This beautifully preserved vintage rug from the West coast of Turkey features a deep crimson red field anchored by a bold central medallion and framed with intricate borders in indigo blue, mustard yellow, ivory, and espresso black. The geometric motifs are crisp yet softened by time, giving the rug a balanced presence—rich in pattern without feeling heavy.
The very low pile and even wear suggest this piece was woven approximately 80 years ago (circa 1940s). Its surface has that sought-after antique patina collectors love: smooth, matte, and gently aged, with colors that feel settled and harmonious rather than bright or new. Despite its age, the structure remains strong, making it both decorative and functional.
