This magnificent antique Oushak rug, woven in the early 20th century in Western Anatolia, embodies the poetic elegance of Turkish textile artistry. In contrast to traditional jewel-toned Oushaks, this piece captivates with its unusually restrained and earthy palette—featuring soft sage green, muted beige, and washed plum/purple tones that have mellowed into a beautifully timeworn patina.
The field is arranged in a classical allover palmette and vine-scroll pattern, anchored by large-scale floral motifs and serrated medallions that seem to float across the surface.
