About the Item
Woven in the mountain village of Sarab around the 1920s, this long runner departs from the region’s usual octagon pattern and instead arranges a playful checkerboard of stylised leaves, chalice forms, and small architectural shrubs. Soft baby-blue, blush pink, camel, and sand blocks sit on an ivory ground, their outlines picked out in sky and indigo for gentle definition. Slim guard borders with saw-tooth diamonds frame a pale blue main border of geometric rosettes, giving the piece a light, almost patchwork feel. The low-shorn wool pile and vegetable dyes create a velvety hand and an even, sun-washed patina suited to hallways, kitchens, or a casual gallery where colour and artisan character are welcome.
