Hand-knotted in wool and originating circa 1950-1960, this 3x20 vintage Persian Heriz rug is a particularly rare extra-long runner for its provenance—an exciting new curation from Rug
Kilim.
On The Design:
Admirers of the craft will particularly appreciate the fabulous range of colors in this Heriz rug, both rich and bright. Here, blue, beige-brown and cream tones underscore the field, with many geometric-floral patterns—a collectible and personal detail found in select works of these provenances, distinguishing them even today as works of folk art with a rich history. Admirers of the craft will note inspiration from the Persian Herati pattern, or “fish” pattern as it’s named for the swimming sensibility of its curvaceous floral drawings.
