About the Item
An antique Turkish Oushak accent rug. An open rose ground sets off two styles of Oushak medallions, each based on a lozenge or quatrefoil center. The Yaprak (“leaf”) and ragged palmette motives go back to the 18th century and have proven, as here, to be both popular and characteristic of Oushak rugs, both large and small.
