About the Item

The light brown field of this early 20th century Turkish carpet displays a central octagon with smaller up design rectangles, flattened cartouches, and lesser octagons. The pattern looks vaguely Viennese Secession style. The borders also seem quite European. Some field motives have been adapted from south Persian tribal rugs. Hand-knotted in Turkey Wool One-of-a-kind Measures: 12' 3" x 17' 7"
