About the Item
Iconic carpet from the production designed by Zeki Muren, a singer and designer who was highly regarded in the 1950s in addition to his talents as an artist for his eccentric style that characterized his entire output. His style and taste influenced the production of rugs produced in the city of Sparta between 1950 and 1980, but only a few are actually designs made by Muren, who often named his creations and inserted his signature in the weaving, as in the rug we present. The decidedly eccentric and daring colors in the combinations and the abstract design are an expression of Muren's playful world, which had a huge amount of admirers following him in his singing performances. This rug also has Zeki Muren's signature and the name of the decoration within the design.
