Hand knotted in wool between 1910-1920 from the titular Anatolian region of Turkey, this antique Ghiordes rug enjoys allusions to the Mihrab and tree of life symbols, venerated in part for the unique variations between individualistic rugs of this nature. This collectible small-sized rug offers an intriguing, reserved departure from many of the hand-selected pieces from our Ghiordes subcollection, uniquely preferring definition over this more gentle, graceful play of traditional beige brown colors with a more obsequious geometry. The subtle green and eggplant accents complement the feeling of rustic charm the portrait offers a variety of interiors in this versatile size and near-pristine condition, easy to design around with a very cultured air underfoot.
