An 8x12 antique Hereke style rug originating circa 1920-1930, showcasing a fine blend of impeccable textural sensibilities with traditional design aesthetics. Inspired by the courtroom pieces of Persia
Ottoman Turkey, the rug sits in a luxurious floral pattern in rich tones of golden against a delicious maroon background—all encased in an enigmatic near-black and gold color combination on the border for an elevated sense of beauty and sophistication. Further hand knotted in a fine blend of yarn lends a very shiny look to this piece further complementing the regal scale. Thriving in excellent condition, a fabulous piece worthy of being a center of attraction in lavish traditional projects; drawing rooms, well ornate foyers among the wide array of interior applications.
Connoisseurs may note: the rarity of bold, rich color in this quality alone, not to mention a subtle array of green accents, attests to the collectibility of this elegant Oriental rug among traditional styles. Furthermore, there is a subtle pictorial element of bird motifs in the field, seldom seen woven so gracefully into the curvature of these palmette and lotus styles to look so natural in an all over floral pattern—particularly leading the eye to the notes of midnight blue-gray more than black in the field and border alike.
