About the Item
A large hand-stitched rag rug flat-weave (Kilim) composed of authentic vintage panels woven by nomadic families in Eastern Turkey during the late 20th century. Originally created for everyday use inside nomadic tents, these rugs were never made for export but as practical, durable floor coverings for daily life.
This piece combines several handwoven striped Kilims, stitched together in our atelier to form a room-sized rug measuring 212 × 360 cm (13′3″ × 17′5″). The multi colored horizontal bands in varying tones of red, black, cream, turquoise, and lavender create a strikingly modern yet timeless aesthetic.
Styling Notes:
Minimalist yet vibrant, this rug is ideal for lofts, studios, and contemporary interiors. Its durable flat-weave structure makes it suitable for both residential and commercial spaces. Works beautifully as a centerpiece under a dining table, in a large living room, or in open-plan interiors needing scale and warmth.
