A vintage mid-century Moldavian Kilim originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, joining Rug
Kilim’s coveted flatweave repertoire. Scaled at 7x9, this uncommon style dons a European garb endowed with floral and geometric patterns in brown,grey and maroon. Handwoven in wool, the piece witnesses a symphony of geometric elements like diamonds (synonymous with Bessarabian Kilims of a kindred lineage), dots, zig zag and fret pattern on the border. Thriving in great condition for its age and origin, a weave well suited for dining rooms, drawing rooms, elaborate studies, libraries, museums, and even royal suites amongst the wide applications possible with this style.
