This antique Turkish flatwoven rug, produced in Turkey between 1900 and 1920, is a handwoven wool kilim presented in a wide rectangular format. The rug is woven entirely in wool, with both warp and weft forming a durable, pileless structure typical of early 20th-century Anatolian flatweaves. The design is defined by a striped allover composition, arranged in bold horizontal bands that run across the width of the rug. There is no border or medallion; instead, the visual interest comes from the repetition and rhythm of alternating stripes. Warm ivory and sand tones form the primary ground, punctuated by camel brown and deep brick red bands that add contrast without overpowering the palette. Subtle abrash within the red and brown stripes introduces gentle tonal variation, reinforcing the rug’s handmade character and antique authenticity.
