74864, late 19th century antique Turkish Smyrna rug with Modern Northwester style. With its bold expressive design, incredible detail and texture, this hand knotted wool late 19th century antique Turkish Smyrna rug is a captivating vision of woven beauty. Taking center stage is a large hexagonal lozenge medallion patterned inside with a cross motif and anchored with a palmette pendant at either end. Four half-size palmettes grace each corner spandrel. The abrashed red field features an all-over geometric botanical pattern. It is enclosed with a rectilinear botanical border flanked with a series of inner and outer running water and botanical meander guard bands.
