About the Item
This is a silk and metal threaded Turkish Hereke rug woven in Turkey during the beginning of the 21st century circa 2000-2010 and measures 150 x 95 cm in size.
The soft beige field with serrated palemttes, palette cartouches, polychrome floral sprays, floral and leafy vine. Cream arabesque mihrab above and floral shaped panel below. In beige border of cloud bands, floral and leafy vine together with ivory arabesque cartouches between flowering vine, rosette and plain stripes.
Great example from Hereke weaving, very good color combination and well drawn design. This rug has full pile of very soft and lustrous silk together with fine metal thread. Woven on silk foundation. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages original. In general this rig is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive piece.
