Midcentury, from Turkey, this Bessarabian Turkish flat-weave Kilim rug features floral details for which this style is known. With European stylistic origins in Romania, the Bessarabian style was incorporated into Kilim rugs in Turkey, with this particular piece originating, 1950-1960. Sitting on a black background with brown splashes throughout the piece, this vintage Turkish rug was designed with two large bouquets of pink and red roses that are surrounded by their green leaves. These bouquets are bordered by smaller single roses in blue, red, pink, and cream, connected by brown vines. In each corner sit smaller bouquets of flowers in pink, red, and blue. A border in beige holds dainty flowers in red, blue, pink, brown, and black, connected by a single green vine. An exterior border in black, features red flowers with green leaves separating each pair. At 5’10 x 12’8, this piece is ideal for a dining area among the wide array of interiors welcoming its rich color and transitional, elegant floral tones.
