About the Item
Famed for occupying primetime spots in many Old Masters’ paintings of the Renaissance, Anatolian carpets symbolize the West’s first encounter with Oriental carpets at a grand scale.
At the crossroads between East and West, Anatolian carpets combine Turkic influences, Romano-Hellenistic flavor, Islamic traditions, and Caucasian motifs and patterns to deliver rich and balanced carpets.
A flame orange field is adorned with large-sized stylized palmettes, flowerheads, rosettes, and leaves of pastel green, pink-grey, gold and cobalt blue. Encompassing the field is a prominent pastel green border adding much harmony to the carpet.
A soft-hued carpet that is neither too imposing nor too passive; capable of adding warmth to a setting as well as elevating its nearby surroundings.
