Made with hand-knotted wool, this 11x12 rug is from a new line of Rug Kilim’s Modern Classics Collection, inspired by vintage and antique Agra rug designs. On the Design: Rich burgundy creates a sophisticated backdrop for an array of palmettes and vine scrolls that dance across the surface with grace. A central medallion in golden ochre anchors the composition, while corner spandrels in luminous champagne tones create perfect harmony. Admirers of the craft will appreciate the jade-green border which hosts a series of rosettes and cartouches and the color relationships which particularly impresses, as muted cerulean accents provide subtle counterpoint to the dominant palette of burgundy, jade, and gold.
