The saturated red open field bleeds over into an outlined border of yellow and green leaves. An open stepped lozenge medallion contains tiny flowers and sprouts six triple chandelier dark blue flowers. Although this rug dates circa 1910, the elimination of strict field/border demarcation began in Turkey no later than circa 1850.
