About the Item

Vintage carpets were created to redevelop artifacts for which restoration would be too costly and anti-commercial. In fact, the idea is to enhance their worn appearance by using dyes that go over the original colors, giving the carpet a uniform appearance. Of course, the effect may be more or less pleasing depending on the background colors and the worn areas that are highlighted because the color mordant cannot color the cotton weave, which then remains in the original color. On the market, these rugs find admirers among interior designers who use them as a simple furnishing accessory: they are sought after mainly for their often undefined color and their lived-in look that fits well in both modern and antique settings. Only carpets with good, lustrous wool can be treated, and it is never possible to predict the result, which can also be very disappointing. Our carpet is an old-made carpet of Turkish origin (Ezine) with highlights running through various shades of brown, from chocolate to tobacco. The design is geometric and in places appears on the uniform background.
