Hand-knotted wool, this 4x10 vintage Kurdish runner rug originates from Turkey circa 1970–1980—a work of the tribal people of the same name.
On the Design:
This rug is also from a new curation of exciting young vintage works in the Rug
Kilim collection—all overdyed and with an antique wash that gives them this distressed, shabby-chic look in their texture while preserving their excellent condition.
Here, a coral red field and camel brown border underscore geometric patterns of the same tones, as well as sky blue hues.
Admirers of the craft will note the diagonal movement of color in the field, and its fabulous execution for a piece of this period.
