About the Item
Set upon a soft taupe-beige ground enlivened by seafoam teal and warm rust highlights and encircled by a parchment-beige guard border, this vintage Shiraz features a series of stepped diamond medallions connected by angular vine scrolls and punctuated with stylized rosettes and lozenge motifs. Finely hand knotted by tribal artisans in southern Persia, its supple pile and crisp knotting bring sculptural depth to each geometric form while subtle abrash and gentle fading lend a luminous, timeworn patina. Rooted in early 20th century Qajar workshop traditions, the rug’s harmonious palette and gracefully aged surface impart a serene, rustic refinement that complements both classic and contemporary interiors.
